Miscellaneous information
From Bruce McPhail on 03/14/2000:
in Quebec. The boat is now manufactured in RI in the US, by De Wolfe boats in Little Compton, RI. The
boat is a one design vessel and there are about 3,000 sailing worldwide. The racing fleet in the US
consists of about 300 boats.
The boats today have a much bendier mast than the O'Day boats, and all have raised self bailing
cockpits. At the North American's Regatta in Alpena, MI in 1998 there were a couple of O'Day boats, all
had been upgraded with the newer Hall spars and retrofitted raised self bailing floor.
More information on the boat may be found at: http://sailing.org/yngling/
or http://sailing.org/yngling/usa/
The current manufacturer can be reached at: IngallsJF@Npt.NUWC.Navy.Mil
There is always a couple of ODay Ynglings advertised in Yngling newsletter.
